Marshal's InformationA message from Steve Cowley, Marshal & PC Co-ordinator. Hi, I thought it was about time to make contact with you in preparation for this years event. Have you noted the dates, November 19-22nd. Last year we had over 1200 marshals sign on, quite a feat for our first year, and I know a lot of you that came out and supported us have already committed to helping again this year. Thank you for that. As the Marshal and PC Co-ordinator, I’m once again the contact for forwarding your details to the relevant Staffing Officers, Regional Organisers or Commanders as necessary. Its not just stage marshals and radio crews we need, but also marshals to help in all areas, in Sheffield at Scruitineering and the Start of the event, in Carlisle at the overnight halts and restarts, in the service areas, and at time and passage controls. I really do need volunteers to assist at the Passage Controls. PC’s are an important part of any event, and on this years event there are some 25+ to man. Usually these are located at the exit from a stage or group of stages. Ideally it’s a two man job, filling in a time card, removing the previous time cards and then passing the details off the timecards to results in Rally HQ, usually by phone and if necessary we’ll provide the necessary mobile to allow you to do this. It’s a great opportunity to see the cars and speak with the crews up close and sometimes a bit of a change from instage duties... why not combine both throughout the event. At this moment I can't tell you anything about the stages, their locations or times, but, I'm told that the most of the stages are sorted, and understand that final route checks are to be carried out later this month, so possible these details may be available in early August, and after that we'll possible be able to let you know the schedule so that you can plan your own timetable and activities. I do know that we have already more entries (50+) than last year, and that's still with some 130+ days to go to the event, details of these entries may be found on the websites below. More information about the event, including access to the on-line regulations, can be found at www.rogeralbertclarkrally.co.uk or www.delacymc.co.uk websites. Interested in helping out on this years event? Then if you want to go to the stages, please wait until the stage listing is issued, then you'll be able advise me of your wishes, which we'll try to accommodate wherever possible, otherwise if you wish to run a PC, help at the Start or Finish Area, Service Area, then let me know asap. Like I said earlier, If you'd like to combine your roles, with a range of duties over the 4 days please let me know asap. You may contact me via e-mail at marshals@delacymc.co.uk Many thanks, Steve Cowley, P.S. Please feel free to pass on this information to your friends and colleagues.
"Re-live the Memories" with us again 19th -22nd November 2005.
