By re-arranging the pre-event reconnaissance and eliminating the pre-scrutineering
'rest' day, the length of the whole rally - from the start of reconnaissance
to the end of the prizegiving - has been reduced by two complete days,
from ten to eight days. This makes it the shortest event in the World Championship
Starts one hour later than in recent years, so that every driver can
tackle the first stage at Cheltenham Racecourse in daylight.
Each of the special stages on Leg 1 will include at least 50% of gravel
surfaces.
Return to Blenheim Palace for the first time since 1997, but using
an all-new route.
