Network Q RAC Rally 23-25 November 1996

Last year, only the start, finish and prizegiving took place at the Racecourse. For 1996, however, the venue will house all activities associated with Rally Headquarters, including the media centre, several television and radio studios, rally control, various FIA offices, the stewards' room and the secretariat.

"We are delighted that we can combine so many functions under one roof," said RACMSA Chief Executive John Quenby. "The building is easy to reach on foot from the city centre, it is light and spacious and many of the offices actually overlook the start and finish ramp.

"The Network Q RAC Rally has really become much too large for most hotels, so we very much welcome an opportunity to move to a purpose-built sporting facility, where all our customers -- competitors, media and spectators - will be better catered for."
