Section A – Championship Standing Rules
A 1 Application
These rules apply to all Championships promoted by the Association.
A 2 Nomination of Events
Each member club may nominate one or more events for each Championship by stating such events on the Fixture Proposal Sheet, which should be submitted to the Council by the required date. An event registration fee is payable at a rate decided from time to time by the Council.
Events may be nominated after the date referred to in A 2.1 but reference must be made to A 3.1.1

- The events nominated, as per A 2.1 shall have priority.
- The Club shall have proven ability to comply with these Standing Rules, Championship Rules and the Royal Automobile Club Motorsports Association requirements and to maintain the required standards of an Association Championship Event.
- The Club shall have organised a National A or B event, of the same type, in any one of the three previous Championship years, unless specifically approved by the Committee.
- The Committee reserves the right to refuse or to cancel the granting of Championship Status without assigning a reason.

A 4 Event Requirements
Clubs promoting Association Championship events must comply with the following Regulations. A club that fails to comply with any of these regulations may lose Championship status the following year.
In selecting events for inclusion in the Championship the Association will bear in mind the amount of the entry fee. The Association reserves the right to reject events, which, in the opinion of the Committee, have excessive entry fees.
- Supplementary Regulations (ASR’s) must state that either the Association Championship contenders or all the member clubs of the Association are invited.
- ASR’s, programmes and entry lists must state prominently that the event is a qualifying round of the appropriate Association Championship, and quote the exact title as given in the Championship regulations.
- ASR’s must be sent to the Championship Administrator and all registered contenders whose names and addresses will be made available on a list published and updated by the Championship Administrator. ASR’s must be published at least three weeks before an event.
- The Championship Administrator must be informed of a cancellation or postponement at the earliest opportunity. Postponement does not carry automatic retention of Championship status.
- Results must be made available to the Championship Administrator, with Championship contenders clearly marked, by the Saturday following the event.
- The Club will have paid its current Association subscription before the event.
- The Club will check Championship contender’s registration cards at signing on.
A 5 Competitor Requirements
- Intending competitors will register with the Championship Administrator by completing the application form and paying the appropriate fee.
- Points will be allocated to a competitor from events held once the Administrator has received the form and fee.
- Registration cards must be produced at the start of each event.
- A contender must be a fully paid up member of a club, which in turn is currently a member of the Association.
- It is a condition of the Championships that contenders carry the appropriate Championship decals.
A 6 Disputes
- In the case of any dispute arising from the interpretation of Standing or specific Championship Rules, the matter will be settled in accordance with Section O of the current Royal Automobile Club Motorsports Association Yearbook.
- The Association is not able to enter into, consider or make any decision upon a dispute arising from the actions of a Club or contender during the event.
A 7 Awards
- Championship awards will be presented at a time and place to be announced by the Association.
- Challenge trophies remain the property of the Association and must be returned when requested.
- Awards for classes will only be given when three or more eligible contenders score points in that class competition.

A 9 General
- These rules may be altered by the Committee of the Association, but will remain unchanged for at least one whole championship year.
- The meanings of terms used in the Standing and Specific rules shall be as stated in publications issued by the Royal Automobile Club Motorsports Association.
- The specific rules for each championship may not alter any Standing Rules and will cover the following items where applicable:
Points scoring system
Methods of deciding ties
Awards and Classes
Need for observers
- In order to maintain a high standard of event, the organisers will be provided with a set of Championship recommendations that should be followed. In addition to this, observers may be appointed from the competitors to report on individual events.
